Belinda Curmi – Hype-O Entertainment
Belinda was a single mum of two, it was the year 2015 and she had spent the majority of her second-born daughter’s life fighting for a diagnosis for her 2 year old who would randomly fall unconscious. The mystery illness made it impossible for Belinda to hold a typical 9 to 5 job whilst she cared for her daughter. Subsequently her little family lost their home and with nowhere to go it was time for Belinda to get creative. That’s where in January 2016, Hype-O Entertainment was born. Hype-O Entertainment started as a kid’s party entertainment business specialising in upbeat and HYPE-O (excuse the pun) parties and has now expanded to include school holiday programs, and a brand new performing arts academy opening in July. Jessica is a 28 year old Mum of two living in Melbourne with her fiancé offering luxury hair and makeup services through her business “Jessica Lee HMUA” she also owns and operates two other small business one in the beauty industry “Wax Box Australia” and one in the trade industry as a mechanical draftsperson through her business “JLM Drafting” . Jessica is known to her family and friends as a go getter and a “mind changer” always wanting to explore and learn new things with each passing day, resulting in running numerous business’ in different fields. Jessica is involved with many charities offering complementary hair and makeup services to those in the community effected by cancer or those effected by domestic violence, she has supported and continues to support many organisations through workshops, fundraising and raising awareness around these issues. Sarah Evans – Laneway Dance
For as long she can remember, Sarah Evans had complete confidence that she was put on this Earth to do two things; to be a mum (and a super one at that) and to teach and inspire many young dancers. Sarah’s passion to evoke happiness and to inspire and empower her 4yr old son and her dance students drives her every day and has lead her to find a place of contentment where she can enjoy these two aspects of her life in tandem.
There are many dance schools in Melbourne that offer tuition to aspiring dancers; but what Sarah saw was a lack of focus on the development of young dancers as people. Laneway Dance was created with a goal to not only assist dancers to discover their technical and artistic potential, but to support young people to become confident, driven and open-minded members of our community.
