When did you start your business?
2019
What was the inspiration behind starting this business?
Growing up, I went through some tough times dealing with racism and exclusion that really took a toll on me and my sense of self. It often felt like I didn’t belong, even in my own country, which led to some serious struggles with my mental health, especially during my teenage years. There were moments when I even questioned my place in this world.
But you know what? Like many Aboriginal people, I found a way to become incredibly resilient. I learned how to navigate a world filled with racism and discrimination. Then, something truly beautiful happened – I became pregnant with my first child. It hit me like a ton of bricks that I was about to bring a child into a world that still harbored so much racial hate toward Aboriginal people. That was my wake-up call. I realised I needed to be part of the change.
So, I started sharing my story as an Aboriginal woman, I began blogging, and I got vocal about Aboriginal human rights and inclusion. Eventually, this path led me to become an Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Allyship coach for business owners. I believe that business leaders hold immense potential to create positive social change, and I’m here to help them do it in a way that’s unique, genuine, and aligned with their values.
What are you most excited about in your business?
Every single day, I can’t help but daydream about a world where everyone feels completely safe and free to be their genuine selves. I picture the work I’m doing and the incredible ripples of inclusion it’s creating – first with my clients, then their clients, their client’s families, and even reaching out to communities and the whole wide world. The idea of being part of this positive social change journey genuinely gets me excited!
What also lights up my day is the thought of supporting the awesome business owners in my Inclusion Creators Collective membership. I’m thrilled about how I can help them grow, expand, and make an even bigger positive social impact through their businesses. And I’m especially stoked to have some amazing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders joining us as speakers in our community – their wisdom and perspectives will add such a special touch to our journey together!
What has been the most challenging thing about starting your business?
The journey of starting my business has had its share of challenges. Perhaps the most significant hurdle was discovering my authentic voice and the unique truths I needed to convey. It took time to find that clarity.
Another major challenge was effectively communicating the vital message of inclusion and why it’s crucial for everyone, especially in the world of business. It was tough to find the right words to convey how some business owners have certain privileges and how these contribute to an oppressive system. But, I’m happy to say that I’ve figured out how to navigate these discussions now.
I’ve learned how to help business owners recognise their privilege & unconscious biases and, more importantly, empower them to use it for positive social change and inclusion. It’s been quite a journey, and I’m proud to have found my way through it.
What advice would you give to other women thinking about starting a business?
Here’s some advice I’d love to share with women considering embarking on their entrepreneurial journey: Firstly, follow your passion, that one thing that truly ignites your spirit, and make sure it’s deeply intertwined with a greater purpose. For me, that’s my unwavering commitment to inclusion, liberation, and freedom, and my work reflects these values.
Secondly, embrace your own story and the significant role you play in it. I feel a profound connection to my Ancestors through the Dreaming; they’ve paved part of my path, and now, it’s my turn to carve out a legacy for my children. I’m dedicated to being a Good Ancestor for them and future generations, making choices today that they can someday take pride in. It’s this sense of purpose that keeps me going during the inevitable tough times every business owner faces.
Ultimately, having a powerful driving force within you can be the inspiration that fuels your entrepreneurial journey.
Why did you enter the AusMumpreneur Awards?
I decided to participate in the AusMumpreneur Awards after being nominated by someone. One key reason for my participation was the pressing need for greater representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses in the entrepreneurial sphere. There are some truly outstanding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses out there.
These types of initiatives offer not only a chance to increase Aboriginal representation but also for me to emphasise the significance of inclusive business practices. They provide a unique opportunity to drive positive social change through my participation.

Participating in the awards has helped my business by offering valuable platform to shine in front of a large audience of incredible individuals and business owners. This exposure often ignites important questions such as “What is inclusion?” and “How can I foster greater inclusivity in my own business?” These inquiries serve as powerful catalysts for driving social change. Moreover, it has provided me with a wonderful opportunity to advocate for the crucial importance of inclusion right here.
