NOMINATIONS & ENTRIES

Can I enter more than one category?

Yes.

Do I have to be a member of AusMumpreneur to be nominated?

No. Anyone can nominate or be nominated  

Can I nominate my own business, or does someone else have to nominate me?

Yes, you can nominate yourself.

How do I nominate?

You can nominate your own business or a business you love by filling out the form. The person you have nominated (self or another business owner) will then receive an email from AusMumpreneur with the details to complete their awards application form.

Why do I have to accept a nomination?

Not everyone nominated will wish to enter the Awards; the nomination is your way of recognising mums in business across Australia for their incredible work.

If the person nominated wishes to enter, they will need to accept their nomination. Additionally, they will need to pay their entry fee and complete their awards submission by the due date. Please check your email and website for full entrant terms and conditions.

When do nominations close?

Nominations close at midnight on 9 June 2024

Do I have to go to the awards? 

Attending the awards will not be compulsory.  However, we would love to see you at the event. If possible, it’s an integral part of the awards experience and community.

 ENTRY FEES

Why is there an entry fee?

The AusMumpreneur Awards are an independent awards event to celebrate Mums in Business. We don’t have a large corporate brand behind us like other awards. The entry fees help pay our staff for the awards period and the cost of organising this event.

We knew some business owners would feel they couldn’t afford it so we have introduced five special categories this year that are FREE to enter, for inclusion and equity.

How much does it cost to enter the awards?

It’s free to nominate but to enter your application, an admin fee of $150 for one entry applies to help cover the costs of processing applications. Discounts are available for multiple entries.

This fee also gives you access to networking with your fellow nominees in the private group and a press release template for you to send to your local media.

$2 from every awards entry goes towards supporting the AusMumpreneur Scholarship program.

The AusMumpreneur Scholarship program enables deserving mums in business to attend the Women’s Business School who would otherwise not have been able to afford to.

PARTICIPATION

Do I have to display the awards banner on my website?

Yes. Displaying the banner and linking to www.ausmumpreneur.com is a condition of entry.

When is the awards night, and where is it being held?

Our Awards night is taking place on the 16 August 2024 in Melbourne, at Pullman Albert Park as part of the AusMumpreneur Conference tickets can be purchased here https://ausmumpreneur.com/ausmumpreneurconference/

Should I contact my local media?

Yes. All nominees are encouraged to contact their local media, and we will provide you with a media release template. Please let us know if someone runs your story. Finalists and winners must also be available for media inquiries and interviews in the lead-up and following the AusMumpreneur Awards.

Will the winner’s submissions be made public?

No, we do not publicly display any of the submissions.

PEOPLE’S CHOICE VOTING

If my friends are too busy to vote, can I vote for them?

No. Only one vote per person is allowed; voting for anyone else or more than once is cheating and may result in your voting profile being paused or disqualified.

During people’s choice voting, is it ok to run promotions?

Yes. AusMumpreneur takes no responsibility for any promotions held by nominees, finalists or individuals.

We ask that discounts, special offers, or prizes are drawn randomly as a general ‘thank you’ for support from ALL followers, customers, supporters rather than just those who voted.

FINALISTS & JUDGING

How are finalists selected?

People’s choice categories:

The first round of public voting determines people’s Choice finalists

People’s Choice winners are determined by public vote. The person with the most votes in each category at the end of voting will be the winner (People’s Choice nominees do not need to attend any Judging interviews).

Judged categories:

In the judged categories, finalists are selected by a panel of judges based on responses to questions.

The top 10 finalists are then required to be interviewed and a panel of three (3) independent judges determines winners and place getters in each category. Votes then continue for the top ten in the final round of voting.  

Do people’s choice finalists have interviews?

No. People’s choice winners are the person in each category with the most votes at the end of voting.  

Who are the Judges and how does judging work?

AusMumpreneur Award judges are past winners and guest experts in their field. They volunteer their time to review and score the submissions as well as attending panel interviews with finalists in their allocated category.

To keep judging fair, the names of judges won’t be promoted until after finalist interviews take place. If a conflict of interest arises, judges can excuse themselves from judging a particular finalist’s submission.

Panel interviews are arranged with the Finalists for each Judged Award category. These interviews are with up to three (3) judges and take place online via zoom at scheduled timeslots.

From these interviews, the judges independently score each Finalist and this decides the top three winners in the award category.
