Georgia Graham is a CPA and the founder and director of Empowering Financial Solutions, a boutique bookkeeping practice with a difference. She is a dedicated advocate for financial empowerment and literacy, guiding business owners on their path to financial success. Georgia has a passion for partnering with entrepreneurs and small business and believes that everyone deserves the knowledge and tools to make informed financial decisions.

December 2022

What was the inspiration behind starting this business?

I want to improve the financial literacy of female business owners. My ultimate goal is to make financial literacy as accessible as possible to as many women as possible.

What are you most excited about in your business?

I am very excited about the year ahead. Having attended the Ausmum conference I have met so many incredibly inspiring women and made so many business connections that will help me grow my business over the next 12 months.

What has been the most challenging thing about starting your business?

The most challenging thing has been backing myself to succeed. Making the leap to start my own business was scary, and then backing myself to grow the business has been equally as difficult. Trusting myself, and hearing the feedback from clients has given me all the courage I need.

What advice would you give to other women thinking about starting a business?

Be very clear on your purpose, if you have a clear why you can overcome any how. Make as many connections with like minded women as you can, they really will make or break your business.

Why did you enter the AusMumpreneur Awards?

I love everything about Ausmum, it has given me a platform and connections that I have never been lucky enough to experience. My closest friends and business connections are all from Ausmum. I wanted to enter the awards to gain recognition within the community and to help my business grow so I can continue to support more women in business.

What did you enjoy the most about being part of the awards?

Meeting more women and building more connections. Hearing the stories of other women was absolutely incredible and inspirational. The stories of strength and courage have changed my life.

What surprised you most about the awards?

The power of the community. I witnessed so many women holding space for others, suggesting business connections and supporting and uplifting each other. It really is absolutely incredible how value aligned everyone in the room was.

How did the awards help you in your business?

The awards I won will help me to gain more recognition within the community and assist me to help more women.

What advice would you give to other mums thinking about entering the awards?

Do it! Whether you are a finalist or not the process is absolutely incredible. The judges are so supportive, it is fantastic experience and you make so many connections with the other applicants.

What has been the best thing about starting your own business?

Flexibility and freedom to be available for my kids.

What’s happening next in your business?

I plan to grow my business so I can support more women in business, I would love to employ more staff to assist me to take on more clients.

What are your big plans for the future?

I would love to build a financial literacy program for VCE students, particularly girls. It’s on my vision board for this year.
